Certified manufacturing in the UK and US
DEEP Manufacturing delivers manufacturing services for high-integrity, safety-critical applications and is one of a small number of manufacturers worldwide to hold DNV Approval of Manufacture (AoM) for Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM).
Across our Bristol and Houston facilities, we combine WAAM and hybrid manufacturing with established quality management systems and controlled manufacturing processes. Our internationally recognised certifications and approvals provide customers with confidence in our capabilities as we support the qualification and certification requirements of their projects.
DNV-approved manufacturing
DEEP Manufacturing holds DNV approval for DED-Arc manufacturing of metallic materials, including pressure vessel steels. Qualification activities were carried out in alignment with DNV-ST-B203.
DNV AoM | Bristol
DNV Approval of Manufacture for DED-Arc-produced high-strength steels used in hull structures, pressure equipment, boilers and pressure vessels for human occupancy (PVHOs).
DNV AiP | Houston
DNV Approval in Principle for DED-Arc manufacture of steels intended for pressure hulls, pressure vessels for human occupancy (PVHOs) and other pressure vessel applications.
ISO 9001:2015
Both facilities hold ISO 9001:2015 certification, demonstrating our commitment to consistent quality, controlled manufacturing processes and continual improvement.
ISO 14001:2015 | Bristol
ISO 14001:2015 certification demonstrates our commitment to environmental management, including performance monitoring and continual improvement.
ISO 45001:2018 | Bristol
ISO 45001:2018 certification supports occupational health and safety at our Bristol facility through effective workplace risk management and continual improvement.
JOSCAR | Bristol
JOSCAR registration supports our work in defence, aerospace and security, providing customers with access to independently assessed supplier information.
Cyber Essentials Plus
Both our sites hold Cyber Essentials Plus certification, independently verifying cyber security controls that protect our systems and data.
ITAR Registration | Houston
DEEP Manufacturing is ITAR registered in the US, supporting our work with defence customers and projects involving controlled defence-related technical data, articles and services.
Quality assurance
Quality assurance is integrated throughout manufacturing, from material traceability and process control to inspection and documentation, supporting compliance with project-specific requirements.
Sectors we support
DEEP Manufacturing supports a range of industries requiring large-scale, high-integrity metal components delivered at speed. Our manufacturing capability is applied across sectors where certification, performance, and supply chain reliability are critical.
Does DEEP Manufacturing work to NAVSEA requirements?
DEEP Manufacturing is currently working in accordance with relevant NAVSEA requirements for applicable projects but does not currently hold NAVSEA certification. Our team can discuss specific project, material and qualification requirements with customers.
Is DEEP Manufacturing API Q1 certified?
DEEP Manufacturing's Quality Management System is aligned with API Specification Q1 requirements, supporting our work with the oil and gas industry. DEEP Manufacturing is not currently API Q1 certified.
Is DEEP Manufacturing a DNV-approved manufacturer?
Yes. DEEP Manufacturing holds DNV Approval of Manufacture (AoM) for DED-Arc (WAAM) manufactured steels used in pressure vessels for human occupancy (PVHOs), pressure hulls and other pressure vessel applications. DEEP Manufacturing is the world’s first and only company to hold this level of approval.
What does DNV approval mean for additive manufacturing?
DNV approval provides independent assurance that additive manufacturing processes, materials and quality controls have been assessed against defined requirements. For customers, it provides greater confidence in the repeatability, traceability and quality of components produced using additive manufacturing.
Can WAAM parts be certified?
Yes. WAAM parts can be qualified and certified for safety-critical applications when the material, manufacturing process and finished component meet the required standards. DEEP Manufacturing works with customers to establish the appropriate qualification and certification route for each component and application.
What certifications does DEEP Manufacturing hold?
DEEP Manufacturing holds ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications, alongside DNV Approval of Manufacture and Approval in Principle. We are also JOSCAR registered, Cyber Essentials Plus certified and ITAR registered in the US.
What documentation is provided with certified manufactured components?
Documentation is supplied in line with applicable industry standards, codes and individual customer requirements. The documentation provided will depend on the component, application and agreed qualification or certification route.
