End-to-end manufacturing capability
DEEP Manufacturing's Bristol facility combines large-format Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM), CNC machining, inspection and testing within a single production environment. Designed for large, complex metal components, the facility delivers certified manufacturing with reduced lead times and control from build through to final inspection.
Certified manufacturing for critical applications
Manufacturing at the Bristol facility is supported by certified processes, in-house inspection and rigorous quality control. DEEP Manufacturing holds DNV Approval of Manufacture (AoM) for additively manufactured pressure vessels for human occupancy (PVHOs), alongside ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.
From process development to finished components
Bristol brings together every stage of the manufacturing process within a single facility. From material development and process qualification through to WAAM, fabrication, CNC machining, inspection and testing, projects can progress efficiently from concept to finished component.
Material development for demanding applications
Our Bristol metallurgy team develops, characterises and qualifies materials for production using WAAM. Current capabilities include carbon steels, stainless and duplex steels, copper alloys and nickel-based superalloys.
Supporting resilient manufacturing supply chains
Bristol is home to one of the UK's strongest concentrations of aerospace, defence, energy and advanced manufacturing organisations. Supported by world-leading universities and engineering expertise, the region provides an environment where new manufacturing technologies can be developed and qualified for demanding industrial applications.
Combined with certified manufacturing processes and full traceability throughout production, DEEP Manufacturing helps customers strengthen supply chains while reducing lead times for large, complex metal components.
Bristol manufacturing capabilities
17 WAAM robotic systems operating across enclosed, single-axis, two-axis and multi-robot configurations, providing one of the world's largest concentrations of large-scale WAAM capability.
From single-arm systems producing components up to 3m in diameter to multi-robot manufacturing exceeding 6m, Bristol supports projects across a wide range of component sizes, geometries and production requirements.
Our 34,000 sq ft Bristol facility is home to 17 WAAM robotic systems, dedicated machining, inspection and material development, bringing the complete manufacturing process together under one roof.
Materials, manufacturing parameters, inspection and post-processing are recorded throughout production, providing the traceability and confidence required for demanding industrial applications.
Bristol supports the manufacture and qualification of carbon steels, stainless and duplex steels, copper alloys and nickel-based superalloys, with new materials continually developed through our in-house metallurgy programme.
